Our Severn Trent Water technology business is looking for an experienced individual to join our team as a IIB Software Engineer.  This is a key role in our structure as they will be the ‘go to’ person around all of our IIB Services.  In this role you will not just be an operator but you will also get involved in Development work, taking deep dives into how the specific tools were built and work.  As an organisation we use IIB within our telemetry across our water & waste water networks and also in the integration to web tools, it’s a key link in the chain!

 

This role will be a crucial part of the team that supports and improves the Digital suite of Applications at Severn Trent Water. It requires excellent technical skills, strong interpersonal communication, and a high level of adaptability in a fast-paced and secure environment. 

 

Other key accountabilities will be:-

 

Assist in fulfilling all Customer Service Requests in a proactive manner.

• Contribute to the investigation and resolution of Incidents, ensuring they are dealt with within the SLA.

• Document all changes, processes, and operating procedures for Applications and contribute these to the STW repository.

• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (debugging) of all Problems and assist with their timely escalation if required.

• Work on identifying, arranging, and implementing suitable solutions to Bugs/Problems within our applications landscape.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We will be looking for you to have extensive relevant experience in the administration, architecture, development, installation, configuration, health checks, monitoring, and general troubleshooting of IIB, MQ and DataPower. We’ll also look for you to be proficient in scripting and automation tools, including shell script, sql, python, Jenkins.  We’ll look for you to have a deep knowledge of product integration as well as a knowledge of Digital/SaaS technologies.
