We're looking for an exceptional leader to join us as Head of Network Control, leading one of the most critical operational functions across Severn Trent.

Our Network Control team is at the heart of delivering for customers every day, ensuring our networks operate safely, efficiently and reliably from our centralised control centre in Coventry. The team acts as the operational nerve centre of the business, overseeing the real-time operation of the water and wastewater network and ensures a safe, reliable and efficient service for more than eight million customers every day.

 

The Head of Network Control is a highly visible leadership role responsible for a team of around 770 colleagues who work on a 24/7 basis across a diverse portfolio of operational, technical and support teams. You’ll have responsibility for operational control, incident management, network resilience, operational technology, environmental performance and business change.

 

You'll also work closely with senior leaders across the organisation, helping to shape investment decisions, drive operational improvements and ensure readiness for future challenges and opportunities.

 

Finally, this role requires a willingness to attend the office and support operational incidents and emergency responses on a 24/7 basis when required, where you'll provide leadership during major incidents and emergency events, supporting effective decision-making, coordination and organisational learning.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 

We're looking for a proven senior operational leader significant leadership experience with experience leading the real-time control and operational performance of a critical infrastructure network.

 

Water industry experience would be desirable, however we would also welcome applications from those in other sectors such as; gas, electricity transmission or distribution, rail, telecommunications networks, highways or other similar critical national infrastructure.

 

The role is based in our Coventry head office, where you’ll spend the majority of your time supporting your team working with the members of the executive and SMT.

 

We’re an operational business who provide a vital service to millions of customers in our region. Our customers, and our communities are at the heart of everything we do, and as a member of the company senior management team you may be required to attend the office at short notice or outside of normal hours to support them.



Being in a reasonable daily proximity to our office is therefore important, and we can offer relocation support to move the Midlands if needed.
