LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT
We’re looking for a Health & Safety Lead to drive construction safety across our Capital Delivery programme, supporting the safe delivery of water and wastewater projects.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide visible H&S leadership across construction sites (treatment works, pipelines, pumping stations)
- Support project teams to embed safe practices from planning through to delivery
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and behavioural observations
- Ensure effective risk management across high-risk activities (e.g. confined spaces, deep excavations, live assets, MEICA)
- Drive CDM and regulatory compliance, reviewing RAMS and construction phase plans
- Oversee contractor and supply chain H&S performance across Tier 1 & 2 partners
- Lead incident investigations and promote learning across programmes
- Monitor performance, report on trends, and support assurance activities
- Champion a positive safety culture through training and engagement
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- Strong H&S experience in construction, utilities, or infrastructure
- Knowledge of key risks within water or similar high-risk environments
- Experience working within CDM and contractor-led environments
- Ability to influence, challenge, and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Clear, concise communication skills
Desirable: IOSH membership, water sector experience (AMP), temporary works or confined space knowledge
