Severn Trent is a FTSE 100 company and one of the only ones outside London to have an all-encompassing PMO department. Our Graduate PMO Planner Programme involves you to coordinate with programme managers, stakeholders, and team members to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Programme Planner will also be responsible for maintaining project schedules, tracking progress, and providing regular updates.  

 

Through working in PMO, you will gain great oversight of detailed project schedules, including milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.. The programme will enable you to develop your skills. The aim of the programme is;

 

Coordinate with programme managers and team members to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.

  • Lead the implementation of PMO frameworks across risk, change, assurance, analysis, and reporting, ensuring compliance and best practice.
  • Act as the PMO champion for risk management, change control, cost planning, and assurance activities.
  • Deliver accurate, insight-driven reporting for senior stakeholders, highlighting risks, impacts, and mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate risk reviews and governance processes, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Promote continuous improvement within PMO processes, driving innovation and positioning PMO as a centre of excellence.
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders, presenting key programme insights and acting as a trusted advisor on deliverability.
  • Support programme delivery through schedule analysis, change control monitoring, and property programme coordination.

 

HOW WILL THE PROGRAMME WORK?

 

You will be based at Sever Trent Headquarters in Coventry, the heart of our operating patch. The programme requires you to complete placements throughout your time in the role, gaining exposure in different areas of the department so that you are equipped with the right skills to build your career here at Severn Trent.

 

In this exciting programme, you will have the chance to discuss your development and career ambitions in your 1-1 meetings with business leads, mentors, the cohort leader, and the New Talent Team. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

 

You will expand your knowledge in order to ensure the successful delivery of our projects by developing, managing and reporting on the SRO & Property Programme progress, focusing on risk, change, assurance and analysis on behalf of programme and project managers in order to meet overall requirements of the business.


You will be working closely with the Project Delivery, SRO Environmental and technical teams as well as our internal assurance and governance teams alongside our external consultants and contractors to ensure success project delivery. Providing clear and concise insight to our stakeholders to support in the decision-making process for all projects.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

 

Our New Talent Team will guide you and support you every step of the way. Furthermore, your line manager, mentor and graduate buddy will be there to help you in making sure you reach your full potential here at Severn Trent.

Starting Salary:                                  £31,500

Entry Criteria:                                    There are no specific degree disciplines needed.

Driving Requirements:                          You will be rrquired to have a full UK driving licence along with access to your own vehicle upon starting this role.
