We have an exciting opportunity for a Performance Analyst to join our Finance Business Partnering team, supporting our Water Network Operations.

Reporting to a Senior Finance Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in delivering clear, accurate and insightful financial and operational performance information. Your work will help senior leaders understand performance, make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement across the business.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, turning insight into action and building strong relationships with stakeholders.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Producing high-quality financial and non-financial performance reporting that is accurate, timely and decision-focused
  • Delivering monthly performance insights, clearly explaining trends, risks and opportunities to both finance and operational stakeholders
  • Supporting forecasting, budgeting and business planning for assigned areas
  • Developing forward-looking insights aligned to longer-term (AMP) plans
  • Owning and maintaining risks and opportunities (R&O), ensuring robust and well-evidenced reporting
  • Ensuring accurate cost allocation and regulatory adjustments in line with guidelines
  • Preparing financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards
  • Using automation and tools to improve reporting efficiency and enable deeper insight
  • Building strong relationships with operational leaders and confidently presenting findings in a clear and engaging way

 

 

HOW WE WORK

 

You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre in Coventry. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience
  • Solid background in management accounting, forecasting and performance reporting
  • Ability to connect financial and operational data to provide meaningful insight
  • Experience working in a regulated or highly controlled environment is desirable
  • A track record of improving reporting, processes or insight through automation or technology

 

Skills & capabilities

 

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong PowerPoint capability
  • Experience using Power BI (or similar) to analyse large data sets and create clear outputs
  • Familiarity with SAP (or equivalent systems)
  • Interest in using technology, including AI, to enhance analysis and reporting

 

You’ll also be:

 

  • Highly analytical, with strong attention to detail
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • A confident communicator, comfortable engaging and challenging senior stakeholders
  • Proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for doing things better
