EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We are looking for a proactive and collaborative Finance Performance Analyst to join our Asset Planning (AP) function. In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening financial insight, forecasting accuracy and business partnering across our four Tactical Asset Planning subservices. You’ll help shape efficient financial processes, identify improvement opportunities, and act as the crucial link between Asset Planning and Central Finance.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building capability, supporting operational teams, and translating financial data into meaningful insight that influences real-world decisions.
What you’ll be doing
As a Finance Performance Analyst, you will:
- Lead financial forecasting across all four AP subservices, while developing tools and training that empower Tactical Asset Planning teams to produce accurate forecasts independently.
- Strengthen financial governance, supporting teams to manage gated and block projects confidently, stay within budget, and spot early signs of risk.
- Analyse project and programme performance, identifying trends, cost drivers and opportunities for improvement.
- Act as a dedicated Finance Business Partner embedded within Tactical Asset Planning, helping colleagues understand the financial impact of operational decisions, challenging assumptions constructively, and supporting budgeting, forecasting and business case development.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, including capitalisation rules and governance frameworks.
- Translate complex financial concepts into clear, practical guidance for non‑finance colleagues.
- Work collaboratively across the wider business, particularly with Finance Business Partners in Capital Delivery and Customer Operations, ensuring consistent reporting and a joined-up approach between AP and Finance.
Key Accountabilities
In this role, your success will be measured through:
- The accuracy and integrity of financial forecasts, both in-year and across the AMP cycle.
- The quality of financial insight and reporting delivered to AP Managers and the Leadership Team.
- Adherence to financial policies, controls, and governance frameworks.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration with CCS/Customer Operations Finance and Tactical Asset Planning.
- Timely production of management information, performance packs, analysis, and decision-support materials.
