EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We are seeking a Finance Business Analyst to join our Finance team on a 9-month fixed-term basis.
This role is pivotal in enabling data capture, modelling, analysis, and tracking to support the Capital Delivery & Commercial (CDC) Finance team in delivering the Capital Commercial Services (CCS) AMP8 plans.
It involves providing valuable modelling, reporting, insights, and aiding decision-making to ensure the successful delivery of the AMP plan, while also offering robust challenges when necessary.
The position will support several Business Leaders in the CDC Finance teams with critical tasks and analysis, ensuring the right measures are in place to achieve departmental objectives.
Further responsibilities include:
- Deliver analytical and business decision support as part of the CDC team.
- Develop and maintain a data capture and analysis framework to focus on efficiency performance.
- Provide compelling modelling information and insights:
- Reporting, analysis, and insights to support performance targets and maintain a forward-looking view.
- Identify trends, opportunities, and risks; collaborate with CDC business leaders on improvement plans.
- Ensure the CDC team has the financial support and performance insights needed for key business processes.
- Maintain appropriate controls to prevent weaknesses in transaction recording and reporting.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis and financial modelling to support business decision-making
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
You will be an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA Qualified Accountant with substantial finance experience in a similar role
You will have a strong commercial acumen, and a proven track record of diagnosing business issues and driving performance improvements.
You should be able to clearly articulate financial information, provide strategic and operational recommendations, build strong relationships across the organisation, and demonstrate proficiency in Excel, SAP, and BI tools.
Additionally, you should have strong analytical and diagnostic skills with the ability to provide valuable insights into performance outcomes, risks, and opportunities.
Excellent communication and influencing skills are also essential.
