We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Finance team as their Finance Analyst (Revenue & Bad Debt) on a 12-monthfixed term contract
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Business Partner for Revenue and Bad Debt, this role provides commercial, operational, and financial performance insight to senior stakeholders.
It focuses on delivering the Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy bad debt charge through ownership of bad debt modelling and supporting operational teams to manage costs effectively.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
- Own and report Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy bad debt models to SMT
- Lead audit engagement for half-year and year-end, including bad debt papers for SMT and CFO
- Provide financial support across Customer Performance cost centres, including month-end and cost control
- Build strong relationships with cost centre managers to support delivery of performance targets
- Manage budgeting and forecasting for relevant cost centres
- Support annual business planning with stakeholder engagement and financial modelling
- Analyse variances, risks, and opportunities to generate actionable insights
- Prepare accurate monthly forecasts reflecting planned outputs
- Report monthly performance to central finance and Customer Performance stakeholders
- Ensure correct cost allocation for regulatory reporting in line with guidelines
- Create and deliver impactful presentations independently
- Drive commercially sound decisions considering financial and non-financial factors
- Understand and validate non-financial cost drivers for accurate reporting
- Model potential changes to affordability schemes
- Provide ad hoc financial modelling and analysis as needed

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in financial analysis, with a proven ability to deliver strategic insights and influence decision-making at a senior level.
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, excellent communication, and the ability to build credible relationships across the business are essential.
The role requires a commercially minded individual with a solid understanding of control processes, capable of managing high workloads and driving performance improvements through data-led insight.
You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA) with strong MS Office skills
