LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT
We’re looking for a dynamic Environmental Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to lead our environmental performance communications and partnership strategy. This is a pivotal role at the heart of our mission to protect and enhance the natural environment while driving continuous improvement in our environmental performance.
If you’re passionate about sustainability, skilled at translating complex technical detail into compelling stories, and thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments, we’d love to hear from you.
LET’S TELL YOU MORE
You’ll work across diverse audiences – from customers and environmental NGOs to internal subject matter experts, building strategic alliances and driving engagement that inspires trust and action. You’ll be the voice that turns scientific and regulatory language into clear, customer friendly messages.
Some of your other key accountabilities include:
- Develop and deliver communications plans for the Environmental Performance Assessment (EPA) transition.
- Lead engagement with key partners, including ENGOs, regulators (EA, Natural England), and community groups.
- Drive environmental engagement activities for our Welsh business, aligning with corporate and local priorities.
- Create integrated communications strategies showcasing our environmental ambitions and improvement programmes.
- Translate technical content into accessible narratives for customers and stakeholders.
- Plan and execute multi-channel campaigns to raise awareness of environmental initiatives.
- Manage stakeholder relationships at all levels and monitor external trends to mitigate reputational risks.
HOW WE WORK
You'll join a caring culture that collaborates to achieve, grow, and develop. Our employee engagement scores are among the highest globally in energy and utilities. That’s why, we value in-person moments to keep our culture alive.
We’re collaborative, fast-paced, and focused on making a positive impact. You’ll work closely with communications, operations, and environmental teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand integrity.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for someone who can bring clarity and creativity to complex environmental topics. You’ll have a proven track record in communications and stakeholder engagement, ideally within the sustainability or environmental sector.
You’ll know how to take technical detail and turn it into stories that resonate with customers, communities, and partners.
Relationship-building will be second nature to you, whether that’s working with regulators, NGOs, or internal teams. You’ll be confident influencing at all levels and comfortable navigating the public, private, and third sectors. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
If you have knowledge of environmental issues, conservation, or land management, that’s a bonus but what matters most is your ability to inspire action and trust through clear, engaging communication.
HOW WE’LL REWARD AND CARE FOR YOU IN RETURN
It's not just a job; it's a career. We offer benefits that reward great work and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. Plus, you'll contribute to the environment and community too. Here are some of our favourites:
- 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/ sell up to 5 days per year)
- Annual bonus scheme (of up to £2,225, which is subject to eligibility)
