Join us to make a positive impact on the environment and our communities, while being valued and supported in a truly inclusive workplace.
If you want to do more, because you care, we want you on our team.
LET’S TELL YOU MORE
End User Compute is where technology meets people every single day. Our devices, virtual desktops, collaboration spaces, and digital tooling directly shape how effectively our workforce operates – whether in offices, homes, vehicles, field locations, or customer environments.
We’re seeking an End User Compute Architect to work alongside Technology Leadership, Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Operations to define and deliver our end user computing strategy and target architecture.
You’ll own the architectural direction for how users access technology – spanning devices, virtual desktops, operating systems, management platforms, automation, and user experience.
Key responsibilities of the role include:-
- Define and maintain the end user compute target architecture and roadmap (12–36 months)
- Architect Desktop as a Service platforms (such as AVD, Citrix, Omnissa or equivalent)
- Define standards for Windows, mobile and specialist devices using Intune and Autopilot
- Embed persona‑based and role‑based design into EUC solutions
- Provide architectural direction and patterns for packaging, deployment, and automation; hands-on contribution may be required for design validation and prototyping such as for Packer, image pipelines, and configuration‑as‑code
- Act as the senior authority for EUC architecture decisions, balancing user experience, security, cost, and operational efficiency. Develop and govern EUC designs through architecture assurance and our design authority
- Engage senior stakeholders and support procurement activities
You’ll be based at our Severn Trent Centre Head Office in Coventry. You’ll work within our dedicated Architecture team and with this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week, working Monday to Friday.
HOW WE WORK
You’ll join a caring culture that collaborates to achieve, grow, and develop. Our employee engagement scores are among the highest globally in energy and utilities. That’s why we value in-person moments to keep our culture alive but also understand the flexibility working from home can bring. You’ll usually find us in the office, but working from home is supported when you need it.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You’ll bring a strong ability to assess architectural trade‑offs across user experience, security, cost and operability, underpinned by a solid background in EUC and Digital Workspace architecture. You’re comfortable designing and delivering solutions across DaaS, MDM/MAM, Windows and mobile platforms, with an engineering‑led, automation‑first mindset. Experience of packaging and deployment is important, as is the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders, translate technical concepts into business outcomes, and influence effectively at all levels.
Ideally, you’ll also have experience with Microsoft 365 platform architecture, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Copilot, alongside a good understanding of identity technologies such as Entra ID, hybrid AD and SSO/MFA, and exposure to DEX tooling. We don’t expect you to have everything on this list — this role offers genuine opportunity to grow, learn and build new skills. What matters most is curiosity, adaptability and an open mindset, with a willingness to continuously develop and evolve.
Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity, and a caring attitude matter too. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality, as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We’re looking for people who want to get involved, be part of something bigger, and make a difference because they care.
HOW WE’LL REWARD AND CARE FOR YOU IN RETURN
It’s not just a job; it’s a career. We offer benefits that reward great work and award‑winning training to help you reach your potential. You’ll also contribute to the environment and community. Some of our benefits include:
