Here at Severn Trent, we’re looking for a creative and driven individual to join the team as our Digital and Social ManagerReporting into the Brand and Marketing Lead, you will be responsible for our digital and social activity, with the aim to reach new audiences and deepen our relationships with existing audiences and communities. 


We will look to you to create a social media strategy which you curate and execute on our social channels creating exciting ways to engage with our customers and the communities we serve.  You won’t do this all on your own, you will lead a team of 3 people, who will collaborate with colleagues to create branded sector leading social and digital content in line with our 360 MarComm plan and Creative Strategy.  You will also work with and have access to our external comms team & marketing team to manage our digital reputation across our key channels.


Other key accountabilities include:-

  • Find and create exciting ways to engage with customers using social initiatives/ campaigns across our core channels
  • Collaborate with the creative, marketing and external communications team to produce content, pushing new ideas, formats and innovations
  • Shape our online presence in hyper-local, county-by-county social channels to build and take part in conversations to build communities
  • Update existing and create new content that maximises opportunities for brand and campaign engagement. Including finding and telling stories that will show the importance of our work and inspires customers to think differently about us, or to do something different.
  • Create and maintain brand, company information and marketing campaigns across our social media networks.
  • Work with digital and marketing teams to own certain website content to help to deliver our 360 MarComms plans and campaigns, ensuring our customers are up to date with progress and impact.
  • Monitor digital and social analytics, optimising and improving content and being able to set goals and prove ROI.

As you can imagine, we’ll be looking for you to have solid management credentials and an extensive understanding of social media channels and content.  You’ll also ideally be a skilled digital marketer who will bring extensive experience of creating, implementing, and delivering social media channel strategies along with experience of increasing reach, engagement, and conversion levels.  It would also be great if you have knowledge of hyperlocal community management. You’ll also possess strong communication skills, analytical skills and are comfortable writing, creating and designing content for a range of audiences.
