LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT
We’re looking for a Climate Adaptation Specialist to lead the charge in raising awareness, building capability, and driving behavioural change around climate adaptation—both within our business and across our external partnerships.
You’ll be a key ambassador for Severn Trent’s climate strategy, creating compelling content, building capacity and knowledge across the business, and representing us in collaborative forums. Your work will help ensure our people, customers and stakeholders understand the climate challenges we face and how we’re responding.
Some of the key accountabilities:
- Designing and delivering internal climate training and engagement campaigns.
- Actively provide insight into evolving landscape and best practice trends on climate adaptation to help shape our climate resilience.
- Building external partnerships to support regional and national resilience.
- Leading on climate-related communications, including ESG and regulatory reporting.
- Developing citizen science initiatives and behavioural change strategies.
- Managing climate messaging across internal and external channels.
You'll be based at our Head Office in Coventry. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week, WFH flexibility available and travel to other sites will be required at times so you’ll need to hold a full U.K, driving licence.
We are also currently recruiting for a data and systems focused Climate Change Specialist (see job advert ref: 20546), who will strongly collaborate with this engagement focused role.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience in climate communication, education, and stakeholder engagement, including the ability to understand and translate technical issues for diverse audiences
- Excellent knowledge of the science of adapting to climate change and policy and ideally how these apply to the water sector.
- Strong networks and ability to influence stakeholders to help shape the agenda on climate adaptation.
- Experience of working in a regulated, and multi-stakeholder environment.
- Strong writing and digital communication skills.
- A scientific or environmental degree (postgraduate or professional membership desirable).
