LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT
We’re looking for a Climate Change Specialist to join our Climate Change Team and play a pivotal role in embedding climate adaptation across our business. You’ll lead the development of tools, systems and processes that improve how we use climate data—turning insight into action and helping us make informed, resilient decisions.
Some of the other key accountabilities:
- Standardising and increasing the use of climate-related data across the business.
- Developing accessible data visualisation tools for internal and external use.
- Leading our climate monitoring plan and integrating climate risks into wider systems.
- Ensuring data quality and acting as a climate conscience to drive continuous improvement.
- Building consideration of climate risks and impacts into other company systems and processes and producing tools to support decision making.
You'll be based at our Head Office in Coventry. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week. WFH flexibility is available and travel to other sites will be required at times so you’ll need to hold a full UK driving licence.
“We are also currently recruiting for a engagement focused Climate Adaptation Specialist (see job advert ref: 20769), who will strongly collaborate with this data and systems focused role.”
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience working with climate observation and modelling data.
- Strong skills in data visualisation and insight communication.
- Knowledge of climate change policy, modelling and adaptation.
- Ability to translate complex data into practical business processes.
- A scientific or environmental degree (postgraduate or professional membership desirable).
- Experience in Python and Script writing would also be desirable.
You’ll be part of a passionate team driving real change in how we respond to climate risks. If you’re data-driven, creative, and ready to inspire others, we’d love to hear from you.
Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity, and a caring attitude matter too. We welcome and celebrate diverse individuals, knowing they help us better serve our communities. We seek people who get involved, want to be part of something bigger, and make a difference because they care.
HOW WE’LL REWARD AND CARE FOR YOU
Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We’ll reward you for it, too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.
With that in mind, here are just some of our favourite's perks that you’ll get being part of the Severn Trent family:
- Salary starting from £50,000
- 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/ sell up to 5 days per year)
