EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
In this role, you will be the strategic engine behind one of Severn Trent’s most ambitious growth and performance plans. You’ll:
- Set out the long‑term goals for the business and explain clearly what we’re trying to achieve.
- Create a strong message that brings the ambition to life and helps everyone understand their part in it.
- Identify opportunities that will help us improve, grow and work more efficiently.
- Lead projects and changes that make the business run better, improve customer satisfaction and help us generate more revenue.
- Work towards delivering plans that support our goal of doubling our earnings by 2030.
- Work closely with senior leaders and teams across the business to make sure change lands well and lasts.
- Carry out solid analysis and produce strong business cases that support good decision‑making.
- Make sure improvements are put in place quickly, reliably and sustainably.
- Build strong relationships inside and outside the business to share ideas and encourage positive change.
- Help shape the wider industry by improving processes and making it easier for customers to work with us.
- Lead conversations about performance, cost and improvement, helping the business move forward.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
You’ll bring strong experience in leading business improvement or transformation, with the confidence to step into new situations, understand what’s happening, and quickly spot opportunities to make things better. You’ll have worked with senior leaders, influenced decisions, and led people through change in a calm, supportive and effective way.
You’ll be great at building relationships and working with different teams, explaining ideas clearly and bringing people with you. Alongside this, you’ll have solid problem‑solving and analytical skills, able to look at data, processes and risks to help shape good decisions and strong plans.
Your leadership style will be positive, honest and full of energy. You’ll enjoy helping people succeed, driving improvements and making sure changes are delivered well and last. You’ll lead by example and stay focused on achieving real results.
You’ll also bring degree‑level education or relevant experience, knowledge of process improvement (such as Lean or Six Sigma), good digital skills, and a full UK driving licence.
The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too. We’ll be looking for you to have knowledge of commercial and contract processes, we’ll want you to be comfortable and confident in negotiating, influencing and communicating as you will be dealing with various stakeholders, both internal and external.
