LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT
We're looking for a Business Continuity Specialist on a 12 month FTC to help ensure Severn Trent remains prepared, resilient, and ready to respond to disruption. In this key role, you'll be working as part of the wider Resilience team to support the development and continual improvement of our Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), working across the organisation to strengthen resilience, minimise risk, and protect essential services for our customers.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting and maintaining our ISO 22301-aligned Business Continuity Management System.
- Leading business impact assessments, risk reviews, continuity exercises, and scenario testing.
- Developing and enhancing business continuity, crisis management, and incident response plans.
- Working with stakeholders across the business to improve organisational resilience and recovery capability.
- Delivering training and awareness activities to promote a strong "Being Prepared" culture.
- Engaging with regulators, Local Resilience Forums, emergency responders, suppliers, and industry partners.
- Supporting major incident response and recovery activities when required.
- Providing expert advice and guidance on business continuity best practice.
- The role requires the incumbent to join a standby rota to support incidents that occur outside of core working hours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong experience in business continuity, resilience, emergency planning, and/or risk management.
- Excellent understanding of business continuity principles, frameworks, and best practice.
- Experience developing and delivering continuity exercises and training programmes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret risk, threat, and regulatory information.
- Ability to influence, engage, and build relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Experience of working with and influencing a range of external stakeholders is desirable.
- Water industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
Qualifications
- Business Continuity-related qualification or training preferred.
- SC Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Full UK driving licence.
