EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Analyst. In this role, you’ll work with key internal partners across Severn Trent to deliver challenging digital transformation programmes, including AI, legacy systems decommissioning, new digital systems for capital design and delivery, software projects, and Agile/Scrum methodologies. We’re looking for the successful candidate to be responsible for the documentation and analysis of your work-stream, utilising Agile and Scrum methodologies to enhance project delivery.
You’ll travel and work at various sites/locations across the Severn Trent Water Region, attending team meetings where required and supporting local teams in implementing change programmes, including being flexible with working hours.
Other key accountabilities:
- Be directly responsible/accountable for delivery of projects in your work-stream. Digital transformation currently includes embedding new technology initiatives like AI, legacy systems decommissioning, new digital systems, software projects.
- Gather and analyse business requirements, translating them into detailed functional specifications for digital transformation initiatives.
- Conduct process mapping, wireframing, and data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization within the organization.
- Utilize UML (Unified Modeling Language) to create detailed models and diagrams that represent business processes and system functionalities.
- Recommend corrective action as appropriate so that projects are sustained and implemented, working within the agreed decision-making process/project governance arrangements - reporting progress, risk, and issues to programme leadership and senior stakeholders to the defined standard.
- Manage the work and priorities of the allocated Work-stream resources throughout the project lifecycle, defining appropriate activities to ensure that the project delivers to quality, time, and cost criteria.
- Ensure that project and change benefits are correctly identified and monitored and a framework is in place to drive and deliver sustainable change.
- Assimilate information relevant to the change activity, analyse and then apply it to the project delivery as appropriate.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Experience of leading business change projects utilizing knowledge of the project life cycle with a proven track record of delivering sustainable change and associated benefits.
- Delivering change in a matrix-managed ‘one team’ approach with colleagues from Technology, Commercial, Chief Engineer, and other departments.
- Experience of taking strategic ideas and turning them into tactical projects to be delivered.
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate, engage, and challenge stakeholders at all levels in an appropriate and constructive way - adjusting the message accordingly to fit the audience.
- A full UK driving licence will be required.
