Apprenticeship Programmes are a great way to earn and learn! Our Apprentice Data Analyst- Finance Programme offers the perfect blend of personal and professional development, exposing you to the core of our business.  

 

You’ll be supported every step of the way.  Your role will be to gain practical experience in a few teams developing your knowledge and understanding of Severn Trent and the processes.

All of this will allow you to further develop your skills so you can communicate data effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders. Furthermore, you'll spend time with the Business Information Team, as part of the Finance and Assurance Business Unit. You will become skilled in virtually all types of business models where profit and growth are a means to an even greater end, such as protecting the environment and improving societal sustainability. You’ll help to innovate and drive ambitions for change and make these a reality that are embedded and implemented across Severn Trent.

HOW WILL THE PROGRAMME WORK?

 

You will be based at Severn Trent Headquarters in Coventry, the heart of our patch.

 

In this exciting programme, you will have the chance to discuss your development and career ambitions in your 1-1 meetings with business leads, mentors, a study buddy, the cohort leader, and the New Talent Team. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

 

You will expand your knowledge of:

 

  • How to access and analyse data from across the entire business. Using it to update existing dashboards and reports, as well as creating your own to meet any new requirements.  
  • How to effectively clean, transform, join and validate data from multiple sources (including solving any problems that arise as part of that). Ensuring your data, visualisations, reports, and any conclusions you draw from them are accurate. 
  • How to carry out analysis on key measures such as how effectively a team or project is performing right through to higher level company performance metrics that are reported the water regulatory body OFWAT 
  • To build internal relationships that foster buy-in to existing and future initiatives.  
  • To understand how to act ethically and how this thought process can be brought into everyday business practices. 
  • How to analyse and identify Severn Trent’s opportunities and threats. Escalating any risks within your own team or processes if you find them

  • No two days are the same on the front line and not every day goes to plan, so you’ll need to be quick on your feet to respond!   
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills and enjoy working with multiple teams  
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information and effectively communicate this to different team members and audiences  
  • Curiosity to learn quickly in a reactive and dynamic working environment    

 

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

 

Our New Talent Team will guide you and support you every step of the way. Furthermore, your line manager, mentor and apprentice buddy will be there to help you in making sure you reach your full potential here at Severn Trent.

Entry Criteria: We require all candidates to have Level 3 qualifications (A-Levels, BTEC National, NVQ/SVQ Level 3, Level 3 advanced apprenticeship) 

Driving Requirements: There are no driving requirements for this role
