Exciting opportunity on a 12 month Fixed- Term Contract!!
We’re looking for an inspiring and forward‑thinking leader to guide our Logistics Planning Team as we continue to deliver a best‑in‑class service to our internal customers. In this role, you will champion operational excellence, ensuring our planning activity is efficient, effective, and consistently meets the highest standards.
You will play a key role in optimising the STW tanker fleet, ensuring we deliver exceptional value and achieve the best possible cost outcomes for the business. Alongside this, you’ll take full ownership of the Interworks Contractor spend budget (circa £5M), driving smart, data‑led decisions and leading a collaborative approach to maximise financial performance.
Safety is at the heart of what we do. You will ensure all tanker activities are carried out safely, legally, and responsibly protecting employees, contractors, and members of the public at all times. You’ll also act as a central point of contact for tanker drivers, internal teams, contractors, and other key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and effective communication across the board.
Using Power BI, you’ll produce insightful management information to demonstrate our Logistics and WWR performance, helping us make informed decisions and continually enhance our operations. Continuous improvement will be a key part of your role, as you drive initiatives that refine our processes and support the long‑term success of our strategy.
This is a dynamic position that involves working across multiple sites and regions, offering variety, visibility, and the chance to make a meaningful impact across the organisation.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Lead and develop the Logistics team, ensuring smooth planning and day‑to‑day operations.
- Oversee all interworks tanker scheduling, fleet coordination and compliance with GB Domestic regulations.
- Deliver and maintain the annual WWR Base Plan, working with stakeholders to refine targets and operational needs.
- Manage compliance, reporting and auditing for sludge movements, including APR data.
- Support digester refurbishment planning to protect reception capacity and ensure logistics plans are achievable.
- Monitor performance against financial, operational and safety metrics, and manage any related incidents.
- Develop sludge logistics strategies across Bioresources and Wastewater Recycling to optimise reception space and efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with key operational teams and support investigations when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvements, planning system development and cross‑team collaboration.
- Provide cover for the Logistics & Planning Business Lead and support Minworth Bio Cabin facilities when needed.
- Participate in interworks standby as required.
